New Teacher Spotlight: Mr. De Leonardis

  1. Tell us a fun fact about yourself.

A fun fact about me is that I was bitten by a radioactive spider and swing through the streets of Chicago as the masked crime-fighter Spider-Man.

  1. As a teacher, what is the one most important thing that you really want your students to learn about?

The one most important thing that I want my students to learn is two-fold.  First, is to be a good person becoming the best version of yourself.  We will be judged in this life not on what grade we got in Religion or Math, or on our GPA, but on how we lived our life.  Secondly, is to do your best inside and outside the classroom…don’t want to excuse anyone not trying hard in class or on the field!

  1. If you can be in charge of a Naz club, what would that be? And why?(It can be one that doesn’t exist yet—but who knows?)

To me it would have to be what the students are interested in.  I am a pretty eclectic individual so if there is a need for a club that does not exist, I’m game.  To help see if our interests align, here are some of mine: I am a big fan of music.  I play piano, guitar, and will sing a tune from time to time.  I enjoy movies and filmmaking as well.  It is very inspiring seeing students work together outside the classroom to pursue their interests, so I would be happy to help out with a club if needed.
