On Saturday, April 14th, Nazareth Academy Seniors took part in the annual fashion show at the Marriot Hotel in Oakbrook. The Fashion show was hosted by the Nazareth Mother’s Club, and featured fashions presented by alumna Tracey DiBuono and Zzazz Productions. Any seniors interested in modeling the clothes got to partake in walking the runway. The clothes used for the show were all rented to Nazareth by stores including David’s Bridal, Alixandra Blue, Francesca’s, Fox’s, Hollister, Jasmine, Jeans & A Cute Top, Jessica McClintock, and Black Tie Formalwear for the boys. There were many different styles of clothing ranging from dresses to spring fashions. All the girls got their hair done that morning by Rocco and Rocco Salon and Spa and worked on their own makeup.
Overall, the day of the fashion show was a huge success and helped earn money for the Mother’s Club, a group that provides fundraising support for Nazareth. At the fashion show and luncheon, a number of donated prizes were raffled off. Family and friends enjoyed watching students walk, dance, and pose down the runway in the outfit they chose from their store. To continue the fun, the boys performed a choreographed dance to “Thrift Shop” by Macklemore and “Boyfriend” by Justin Bieber. Finally, for the finale of the show, all the students did their version of the Harlem Shake, which was a huge hit with the crowd.
Senior Felicia David, one of the seniors in the formal wear group mentioned that “It was a great day to spend with family and friends. I enjoyed dressing up and getting my hair done.”
Senior Alexis Veliotis similarly expressed how much she enjoyed the fashion show. “I definitely made lots of memories doing the fashion show and thought it was a great event to have at the end of the year for all of us seniors” she stated. Nazareth thanks everyone who participated in and was involved in making this event possible.
