August was a busy month for Eagle Scout, Ed Miller as he spent his time working on his service project, Save The Prairie Society. During this project and his efforts to preserve prairie life, Ed spent five days, from August 11th-15th, at 8 am and 7 pm observing deer and signs of deer life. Ed says the project was a huge success with the results of finding two does, two fawns, and a young buck.
He has been devoted to Boy Scouts since the first grade and is the only person in his class that is still a member. Ed explains, “I have stuck through scouts all these years because it involves taking initiative for your actions, [and] it puts you in situations you normally would never have the chance to experience.”
Along with being an active member of Eagle Scouts, Ed spends his time at Naz staying involved through Lacrosse, SMILE, the Liturgy Preparation Committee, freshmen/sophomore retreat leader, set crew, and Youth Initiative. You can also catch Ed revving up the fan sections at Nazareth football games.
