Anderson’s Bookshop opens in La Grange

Alison Kufta, Editor

Anderson’s Bookshop opened its third location in downtown La Grange on August 1st

of this year. For readers and gift-givers alike, this independent bookshop offers a diverse selection of books and gifts.

Partially-funded by an Indiegogo campaign, a crowdfunding platform, (another popular example is Kickstarter) this local bookstore offers events on a regular basis, such as author signings and greets, children’s events, and book club meetings. Willing to give back to the community, Anderson’s Bookshop has multiple service projects including: Turning the Page, which fosters “reading in the alternative high school environment”; Book Angels, a program that gives books to kids in need; Books for Troops, which provides books for soldiers; and Andrea’s Angels, a gently-used book drive for children in memory of Andrea Racibozynski.

The new Anderson’s Bookshop offers students a new, close resource to find books and participate in a variety of unique events and book clubs that are certainly worth reading into.

Open 9 a.m -9 p.m. Monday- Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sundays.
