This week, Maddy Schierl and Mlle. Balge swapped a favorite album with one another. Mlle. Balge shared the album Voyeur by Saint Motel and Maddy shared Ceremonials by Florence and the Machine. After about a week of enjoying some new music, Mlle. Balge and Maddy reacted to the albums:

Mlle. Balge’s Review of Florence and the Machine’s Ceremonials

“When Maddy assigned me Florence and the Machine’s Ceremonials, I was thrilled! I was a fan of this album when it came out in 2011, and it had been a while since I’d listened to it. Sure enough, the powerful chorus of “Shake It Off” transported me to the past. It’s the perfect top-of-your-lungs song to psych you up when you need a little extra motivation.”

Maddy’s Review of  Saint Motel’s Voyeur
“I had never heard of Saint Motel before Mlle. Balge shared the album Voyeur with me, but I’m definitely a new fan! I really enjoyed the upbeat sound and thoughtful lyrics of the album. The album sounded kind of retro at times, which I really enjoyed. My favorite song was probably “1997,” because I loved the sound of the piano throughout, in combination with haunting sounding strings and a mellow vocal sound.”
