One of the newest clubs at Nazareth is the Ultimate Frisbee Club. Founding members Seniors Ivan Espinosa and Liam Smith started the club because they wanted a way to get outside during the school day.
Espinosa said, “Instead of being cooped up in the Media Center or sitting in the lunchroom, you can go outside and run around with your friends.” Club moderator and social studies teacher

Billy Crimmins said, “It’s a great way for students to get outside… it’s a super fun and easy thing that anyone can do, and it’s a super welcoming environment.”
According to the World Flying Disk Federation’s (WFDF) website, it is that inclusive and fun environment that is the basis of the sport often referred to simply as “Ultimate.” WFDF states, “Ultimate relies upon a Spirit of the Game that places the responsibility for fair play on every player. There are no referees; the players are solely responsible for following and enforcing the rules, even at World Championship. Competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of respect between players, adherence to the rules, and the basic joy of play.”
The Ultimate Frisbee Club meetings had great attendance in the fall, and looks forward to having more fun on Spirit Field this spring.
