Communication Coordinator Ryan McGee is excited to return to Naz after graduating in 2019. McGee believes that Nazareth offers so many opportunities to students and that they should take full advantage of them.
McGee played lacrosse for 12 years, including throughout her college career. In addition to her sport, she was involved in other ways, too in both high school and college. She encourages students to do the same: “Get involved in all the clubs that you can. Go on some of the retreats, go on Kairos. It’s a great experience,” McGee said.
Graduating from Concordia University Chicago in River Forest just two years ago allows McGee to have a recent perspective on both high school and college life. She fondly remembers her time at Nazareth and encourages students to “just fully invest yourself in the Naz experience, because once it’s gone, you won’t get it back,” she said.
In college, McGee worked with one of her favorite sports teams, the Chicago Blackhawks, for five years. She worked at the Blackhawk’s practice rink front desk and established personal friendships with some of the players. In the future, McGee hopes to one day work for another Chicago sports team again.
Outside of work, McGee loves going out with friends and exploring the world, like going to concerts, trying out new food spots, and visiting other states. Again, she hopes that students will take her advice and take advantage of the opportunities in front of them. “If you have the chance, take it, because money will come back, but it’s the memories that won’t,” she said.
McGee is prepared to continue her journey at Naz and cannot wait to meet the students to talk about sports on social media, the new clubs, and the school events she’ll be photographing. She said, “I think that’s just one thing about me, I’m always up for a challenge and willing to step out of my comfort zone.”
