On Tuesday Feb. 7th Junior Board started a very exciting service project: Port Ministries Sandwich making. Port Ministries Sandwich making is a program where volunteers take some time out of their day and make sandwiches for Chicago’s homeless. Junior Anne Swade got the idea when Junior Board was brainstorming ideas for service projects for the 2016-17 school year. Many students that go to Naz did this project in grammar school and were familiar with it. They loved doing it then, so Junior Board decided to test it out with Juniors and, if it was a success, they would open it up to all grades. The members of Junior Board other Juniors conducted the service project in the Dining Hall. The project got rolling at 3:05 and by 3:35 everyone was able to make 235 lunches that included a sandwich and cookies.

Junior Board plans to do this event again for Freshmen and Sophomores who need service hours or if they just want to do a good deed.
