Student Spotlight: Vinny Giampietro

Student Spotlight: Vinny Giampietro

Jorge Palacios, Staff Writer

Having the ability to draw fantastic artwork may not be a trait many people have, but senior Vincenzo “Vinny” Giampietro says differently. From the age of three years old, Vinny has loved the chance to pick up a pencil and draw a picture of simply anything that popped into his head. Never having the chance to take art classes when he was young, he had to teach himself the basics of simple drawings. As Vincenzo got older he realized that he wanted to do more than basic drawings.

Growing up, Vinny wanted to help people in one way or another, and he believed that he could do that through his artwork. Through his amazing generosity, he has donated many fantastic drawings to different hospitals. Along with his donations, he has made wonderful hats and t-shirts for cancer and diabetes patients.

Making clothing and donating is not the only way Vinny chooses to give back to the community. The reason why he is so dedicated to his artwork is because he “loves the satisfaction of making people happy while at the same time seeing them entertained.” Another way he has made people happy is through making logos for Naz student clubs, such as aviation and science and engineering, while also being a proud member. Lastly he has made an effort in making the Lyons public library logo as well.

Overall, Vincenzo has the phenomenal ability to draw and uses that ability to provide people with happiness and amazement. From making logos, to having his own animation YouTube page, Vinny will help others in need as much as he possibly can through his artwork.
