Nazareth hosts annual auction fundraiser

The Auctionone of  Nazareth Academy’s biggest fundraisers—took place on February 27th, returning for the 37th time.

At this event, families participated in a night of silent auction, raffles, food, and a highly anticipated performance by the band Maggie Speaks.

Run by the Mothers Club and sponsored by many local businesses, this event reflects the Nazareth pillars of Unity and Spirit.

This year’s annual theme, Derby, was intended to inspire an atmosphere of camaraderie and excitement.

Mrs. Broucek, the Director of Development, elaborated on the choice of theme stating, “the Chairs this year, for the 3rd year in a row, are Marisa D’Onofrio and Sue Dolan.  They try to pick a theme that is fun, casual and easy to decorate around.”

All proceeds go directly back to Nazareth, funding programs such as academics, extracurricular clubs, and athletics.

This event makes quite the impact, with around 400 families attending each year. Mrs. Broucek notes that the auction raises “approximately $400,000.00 each year.  It is part of the operating budget that closes the gap between tuition and the cost to educate each student.  It is a vital part of our yearly fundraising efforts.  Almost every Nazareth family participates and many alumni faculty and staff participate in some way.”
