Naz Tutors at Hillside

Monika Miranda, Staff Writer

Starting this school year, Nazareth Academy students have been practicing the pillar of service at Hillside Public Library. This program has been developed to assist kids who need help understanding and completing their homework.

Not only has this been a great opportunity for kids to finish their work faster, but it also is a chance for them to learn different reading and studying techniques. Also, the tutors have learned a lot about what it’s like to interact with children and how to teach.

The organizer of this program, Maura Terrado says, “We are really excited here at the library about the partnership between these two schools.  The Nazareth students are gaining tutoring experience, while fulfilling their service hours; and the Hillside School students are really benefiting from the extra help with homework.”

Helping kids succeed at their school work reflects Nazareth Academy’s pillar of service.
