Annual WALK, Homecoming, Naz Fest planning begins

Now that school is back in session, there are many events for the Nazareth student body to look forward to, including the annual Naz WALK. The Walk started 41 years ago, and will take after the same route as last year.

The WALK is one of Nazareth’s primary fundraisers. Ms. Colleen Cook, coordinator of The WALK, said “The money raised goes to this year’s operating budget…it benefits everyone here (at Nazareth).”

This year’s WALK will take place on Friday, Oct. 2nd. Following The WALK, Nazareth’s recent tradition of the Naz Fest, sponsored by Student Council, will take place. Brenna Fritzche, Student Council Co-President, said “Naz Fest should be a great time for everyone. There are a lot of awesome things in the works for the student body to enjoy.”

The WALK is just the start to an eventful weekend. Homecoming will take place on Saturday, October 3rd. The theme for this year’s Homecoming will be Olympics, or “Pass the Torch.” Student Council, Class Boards, and The Walk Committee have already begun planning many activities for the Homecoming Week and The WALK, including in-school activities, and two extra out of uniform days: Stars and Stripes Day and class color day.
