This year, has been a historic one for the Naz Band, as it hosted an incredibly successful annual, Band-O-Rama, its largest one ever. Over 40 students from different grade schools participated. The purpose of this event is to recruit future Roadrunners interested in band.

Band Director Mr. Mike Sliwinski said, “Before I arrived, the event typically hosted around 15 kids. During my first year, I grew the event to 30 kids. This year, we had 47 students participate which makes it the biggest one yet in Nazareth history, and I am looking forward to continued growth of this event”.

Future Roadrunners learned from the best, the current Naz Band. Students taught them what Naz’s Mission was and explained how the band is a great example of Roadrunner Spirit. They also learned from Mr. Sliwinski’s former band director, Dr. Jeff Malecki, Director of Bands at the University of San Diego.

The future Roadrunners even joined the band at halftime on the field, and performed “We Are Young” and the Nazareth Academy Fight song. The band program continues to grow, as they move into their new band room, which will be home to 61 students, including members of Color Guard.
