2016 has been an interesting year filled with many interesting social media trends. One of them is the Water Bottle Flip challenge. The challenge all started with a video that was uploaded from a talent show of 18-year-old Mike Senatore at Ardrey Kell High School in Charlotte, NC. In the video, Mike walks up to the table and flips his water bottle and lands it, making the crowd go crazy and making himself an internet sensation. The Water Bottle Flip challenge can be seen almost anywhere you go today. There are kids, teens, and even adults still doing this challenge, making it one of the biggest trends of 2016.

Another social media trend that was huge in 2016 was the Damn Daniel video. The video was made by Daniel’s friend, Josh, and showed Daniel walking around and his friend Josh complimenting his swag by saying “Damn, Daniel!” Josh also loved when Daniel wore his white vans, throughout the video exclaiming “back at it again with the white vans!” The two were also invited on The Ellen Degeneres Show where Daniel was granted a lifetime supply of Vans.

The last social media trend that was big in 2016 was the Mannequin Challenge. The Mannequin challenge is where a group of people stand still and someone takes a video of them in their pose. It’s a very fun challenge to do with some friends, classmates, or coworkers. Many people have done the Mannequin Challenge, including celebrities and sports teams.

2016 had some great social media trends that made it much more enjoyable. It will be interesting to see what new trends will take 2017 by storm!
